“shake”
sift me
right through your fingers
i wanted to get
under your nails
you are the hoot
and holler of passing
truckdrivers
you didn’t want
to get involved
you never expected
me to look at you
like you were really there
ask you about your grand
mother and make you
think there’s more to salt
than dinner and tears.
Something short and not my regular style. Things are moving along swimmingly- I’ve been getting out about one coverletter and resume a day, working on MN Mic posts, working on Army of Nursery Rhymes related projects (contact with artists, possible performers for the release party, writing a whole new poem?, etc.), writing letters and postcards, and working on a secret project for labor day weekend. Marc asked me to perform my science poems at his math music cd release party, which is pretty awesome- I think I’m going to try to aim the “Army of Nursery Rhymes” release at early November, so I can promote at his show.
I’ve kept up with my intangibles lunar cycle writing challenge, too. I’m currently working on a Goldilocks poem that has been eluding me for months… it wants to go in so many directions, I keep making notes and notes and notes.
